Conference Overview

Youth is an essential stage of life for building the capacities of our young people that would allow them to make the right choices, lead a better life and be actively engaged in civic responsibilities. Whether our young people are in school or out of school, they have to be provided with a broad range of educational and learning pathways for their future and well-being. They need support to fully understand their options and navigate the transitions from schooling to further education, training, work and adult life.

All countries in the region have existing educational policies and programs that are mostly well established and are framed within the context of preparing a better future for their young people. However, are they already sufficient and appropriate in broadening the opportunities and capacities of the youth to enable them to become the next generation of productive workers, responsible leaders and active citizens in the Southeast Asian region and beyond?

This year's conference will engage the youth, educational planners, community members, business and industry representatives, and local government executives to meaningfully discuss and exchange experiences and strategies and stretch possibilities towards helping the youth co-create their best positive future.
