Operational
Philosophy, Strategic Goals and Functions
Guided
by its vision, SEAMEO INNOTECH offers programs and
services that are relevant, sustainable, at par with
regional and international standards, and responsive
to current and anticipated needs of the region's education
stakeholders. The Center's strategic goals are:
- position
the Center as the preferred provider of innovative
and technology-oriented education solutions in Southeast
Asia;
- create
an excellent client experience;
- develop
a sustainable financial and business standing;
- increases
the Center's institutional visibility, regional
relevance and international standing and prestige;
and
- build
a strong learning organization.
The
Center's main programs are on training, research and
evaluation, and information and communications technology
(ICT). Aside from these, the Center undertakes other
programs in response to situational needs in the region
and beyond. They include the conduct of biennial international
conferences and regional seminars which provide venues
for interaction among the Southeast Asian educators
and their counterparts from the rest of the world
regarding global concerns such as technologies for
learning and effective delivery of education to all,
literacy, multi-channel learning, women in development
and environmental educational.
Through
personnel exchange and other technical arrangements,
the Center avails itself of the services of consultants
and experts from other counterparts to enrich inputs
into its training, research and information activities.
Its consultancy services are in turn made available
to other agencies.
The
Center carries out various programs and activities
through partnerships with ministries of education,
the SEAMEO Secretariat, national, foreign and international
institutions and agencies, and with other SEAMEO Centers.
As it gives importance to institutional cooperation
which can be mutually strengthening, INNOTECH maintains
and fortifies its present linkages and forges new
ones.
