SEAMEO Signs New MOA with Phil. Government for INNOTECH Funding

The Memorandum of Agreement concerning the operation and funding of SEAMEO INNOTECH from 1 July 2006 to 20 June 2011 has been signed between SEAMEO and the Government of the Philippines in the 40th SEAMEO Council Conference held in Hanoi, Vietnam in March 2005 . Activities during the medium-term period are covered by the Center's newly approved Seventh Five-Year Development Plan, which envisions to make the Center "the preferred education solution provided in Southeast Asia" through five strategic objectives.

The MOA was signed by H.E. Florencio B. Abad, Secretary of the Department of Education, Philippines, and Dr. Edilberto de Jesus, Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat. The signing was witnessed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hien, President of the SEAMEO Council and Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam, and H.E. Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Vice-President of the SEAMEO Council and Minister of Education of Singapore.
