q-LEARN
Nicknamed q-LEARN, this project of the Third Elementary
Education Project of the Philippine Department of
Education trained teachers and school administrators
in using a set of professional self-learning packages
that would enable them to undertake school-based,
self-propelled learning activities at their own pace
and in their own learning styles. It is envisioned
that these competencies would help improve student
achievement in the different learning areas of the
Basic Education Curriculum.
The projecy also trained teacher to use ICT tools
such as computers, digital still and video cameras
in producing appropriate learning materials for their
continuing professional development activities in
schools.
Towards the end of the project, more than 800 school
heads, pubcli schools district suprvisors, schools
division superintendents and their assistants were
trained in utilizing q-LEARN learning packages designed
for their learning action cell sessions.
