Abstract: This English workshop was run by schools
inspector of English for primary section as one
of my projects in 1989. The aim was to show
teachers of English that teaching and learning
can be interesting in innovative ways by using
                    relevent teaching-aids.
Objectives: To make at less 90 percent of the pupils in
standard III (22 pupil) be able to tell the time
by using clock face, old clock, charts, pictures
and games. In oral the skill was well
accumplished but when came into writing skill the
                    results were not satisfactory.
Methodology: Communicative, Look and say, Games, Situational.
Background: (Refer to Project Description above).
Expected Outcomes: After the project was completed the pupils are
expected to be able to tell time orally, able to
write and read either in sentences or as
composition to form ideas based on pictures.
Results to Date: The written tests were given on 23rd January,
                    13th February,28th February, 18th March and 31st
July. When each lesson implementation was
completed the test was then carried out the next
                    week. 1st test 21 passes, 2nd test 20 passes, 3rd
                    test 16 passes, 4th test 13 passes, 5th test 10
passes and the 6th 'Composition' 10 passes.
Reasons :- The tests given were too late between
actual lesson and the testing. Some children
could not retain what they have learnt. Time
lapse between one lesson to another is great
because of school holidays, teachers involvement
in other activities and health hazard. As result
lesson schedule could not be carried out as
                    planned.
