Objectives:         This report on Educational Technology in Malaysia
                    was prepared for the UNESCO Regional Seminar on
                    implementation of educational policies and
                    reforms which was held in Bangkok from 25 April
                    to 5 May 1989.  
Background:         The educational policy is shaped by the National
                    Goals and objectives like National Ideology
                    (Rukunegara), National Educational Policy and the
                    Economic Policy which aim for the promotion of
                    national unity, eradication of poverty among all
                    Malaysians and the creation of a just,
                    knowledgeable and informed society.  
Expected Outcomes:  From the discussion of the trends and issues
                    related to utilization of educational technology
                    in schools there is need to integrate the
                    technologies into the actual teaching/ learning
                    process. The same can also be said of its
                    application in other education institutions and
                    for other educational purposes.
