Objectives: The aim of the study is to determine the overall
performance of the graduates of the three
                    institutions namely Secondary vocational schools,
technical schools and the Polytechnics. The study
focussed on i) the employability characteristics
of the graduates, and ii) the quality of the
graduates as skilled workers that they are
intended to be by the respectives PTV training
                    programmes.
Methodology: Three sets of mailed questionaires incorporating
six identified areas were drawn up. The
                    questionaires were prepared for graduates,
employers of graduates and instructors of
                    Polythenics and Technical/Vocational Schools.
interview questionaires were also used in the
                    study.
Results to Date: The study revealed that employment prospects for
PTV graduates were generally good and a large
majority found jobs in their fields of
                    specialisation.Cumulative employment percentages
of 95.6, 86.2 and 57.0 were recorded for
                    polytechnic, technical and vocational school
                    graduates respectively, two years after
graduation. In terms of the quality of training
programmes and PTV graduates, the study indicated
                    quantitative increases, and qualitative
improvements in the institutions, courses offered
                    and curriculum changes effected.
