Title:              Technical and Vocational Education Project
                    (TVEP).  
Results to Date:    1. The present enrolment is 3,072 with 525
                    teachers participating;  2. The three-year
                    technician program (DT) is implmented in the 221
                    Project Institutions and the first batch of
                    graudates will be on March 31, 1989;  3. Four
                    hundred and thirty-eight (438) teachers have
                    earned the Master of Technician Education and the
                    managers and supervisors have all gone on start
                    term training.Additionally, the teachers
                    underwent the Teachers Industrial Attachement
                    program(TIAP) for upgrading of industrial skills.
                         a) A computerized Program Monitoring and
                    Evaluation System (PMES) has been designed and
                    installed.       b) Teachers guides and student
                    workbooks for all subjects have been developed
                    and for all subjects have been developed and
                    printed.  Delivery is on-going.       c) An
                    instructional delivery system of print and
                    non-print materials utilizing various media have
                    been developed, delivered and utilized to all
                    project institutions.  4. The Technical and
                    Vocational Accreditating Association  of the
                    Philippines has been registered with the
                    Securities and Exchange Commission.  Affliation
                    with FAAP has been applied for.  5. The National
                    and Zonal centers have been established.       a)
                    National Center for Technician Education and
                    Staff Development (NCTESD) is hosted by the
                    Marikina Institute of Technology, Marikina, Metro
                    Manila.       b) The Regional Center for
                    Technician Education and Staff Development for
                    Luzon (RCTESD) is at the Technological University
                    of the Philippinrs, Tagig Campus, Tagig, Metro
                    Manila.       c) The TCTESD for Visayas is at the
                    Cebu State College of Science and Technology,
                    Cebu City.       d) The RCTESD for Mindanao is at
                    the University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao
                    City.  The National Center implements long term
                    training programs while the 3 zonal centers
                    implements short term upgrading programs.  6.
                    Pursuance of the provision of Schedule 6 of L.A.
                    PHI-531, the Technical Panel of Technical and
                    Vocational Education was created as a
                    consultative advisory and policy recommending
                    body to the DECS and the BTVE.
