Title: Development of Researched-Based Instructional
Materials for Pupils in Science, Mathematics &
Reading.

Objectives: To initiate the development of instructional
materials in Science, Mathematics and Reading
(English and Filipino) based on regional needs.
Methodology: Workshop on the development of instructional
marerials on the least mastered skills in the 4
learning areas will be conducted. Regional
supervisors in the 4 learning areas will be
oriented on the test results; types of resources
available in the region and preparation of
instructional materials on the least mastered
skills.
Background: Analysis of test results in the National
Achievement Test for Grade I to VI showed that
some skills in Reading (English and Filipino),
Science and Mathematics were not mastered. A
listing of these mastered skills were made by
area and level. Hence there is a need to prepare
instructional materials for the pupils and
teachers guides.
Expected Outcomes: Instructional Materials in Science, Mathmatics
and Reading (English and Filipino).
Results to Date: 1. Listed the least mastered skills in
Mathematics, Science, Process Skills and
Problem-Solving Approaches. 2. Researched on
Vocabulary Skills and Strategies in Teaching,
Development of Comprehension Skills, Science,
Process Skills and Problem-Solving Approaches.
3. Identified suitables materials in Science,
Mathematics and Communication Arts (English and
Filipino) for teachers and pupil identified.
Conducted In-house Study Session on Development
of Teacher and Pupil materials conducted.
