Title: Accelerated Learning Program for Elementary
Schools (ALPES).
Institution: Bureau of Elementary Education.
Objectives: To administer test to high achieving Grades IV
and V pupils to be accelerated to the next higher
grade.
Methodology: Each school shall select 3 examinees each from
Grades IV and V based on their scholastic rating
on the present grade for district examination.
The District Selection Committee shall determine
the number of candidates based on the number of
grades IV and V classes in the districts. The
Division Selection Committee shall now administer
the Division achievement test on the different
subject areas covered by the Acceleration test.
Only those belonging to the upper 50 percent in
the Division test shall qualify to take the
National Acceleration test.
Background: To give a chance to high achieving Grades IV and
V pupils to be accelerated in the next high
grade.
Expected Outcomes: ALPES test materials for Grades IV and V; ALPES
test results; and. Report on the project.
