(a) Under-enrolled Schools
Entitlement will be based on number of pupils as follows:
No. of Pupils - 20-29, No. of Teachers - 1
No. of Pupils - 30-39, No. of Teachers - 1
No. of Pupils - 40-59, No. of Teachers - 3
No. of Pupils - 60-99, No. of Teachers - 4
No. of Pupils - 100-139, No. of Teachers - 5
No. of Pupils - 140-179, No. of Teachers - 6
No. of Pupils - 180 and above, No. of Teachers - The ratio of 1.2
teachers per class plus 1 headmaster applies.
(b) Primary Schools
(i) The teaching establishment will be fixed by an approved ratio
of 1.2 teachers per approved class. Where the total number of
approved classes is 10 or below an extra post will be provided in
the establishment for the head-teacher. Where the number of
approved classes is more than 10, the head-teacher will be counted
in calculating the approved establishment.
(ii) Where secondary classes are attached to the primary school,
the secondary classes attached will be entitled to the number of
teachers based on the ratio approved for secondary schools (see
below).
(iii) Double sessions will not entitle a school to additional
teachers.
(iv) Three teacher trainees will be counted as two trained
teachers.
