Full text: 1. Section 3 (1) Article XIV of the 1987 Philippine
Constitution states that "All educational institution shall include
the study of the Constitution as part of the curricula."
2. Towards this end, all schools, colleges and universities,
public and private, shall include the teaching of the 1987
Philippines Constitution integrated in appropriate subjects across
the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels. Likewise,
non-formal education shall make provisions for its study in their
programs. In the tertiary level it shall remaim integrated with
Philippine Government.
3. The scope and treatment of the study of the Philippine
Constitution shall be adapted to the respective educational levels.
4. The Bureau of Elementary Education, Secondary Education
and Higher Education shall prepare a suggested list of target
learnings appropriate for each graded/level and corresponding
prototype instructional materials which shall serve as basis for
regional initiative in curriculum development and evaluation.
5. The Regional Director shall provide leadership in
developing syllabi for the teaching of the Philippine Constitution
at the elementary and secondary levels. It is desired that a copy
of the syllabi developed by the regions be submitted to the
Department of Education, Culture and Sports. Further, it is
desirable for the regions to undertake community outreach programs
and activities for the enhancement of awareness of the mandates of
the 1987 Philippine Constitution.
6. Copies of the Philippine Constitution shall be made
available in all public and private school librarian.
