TEACHeXCELS orientation for DepEd Region IV-A

Around 100 public school heads from Region IV-A enrolled for the flexible learning course on Teaching and Learning Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia (TEACHeXCELS). A Learners’ Orientation was held, 27 September 2016 at SEAMEO INNOTECH.

Learners were introduced to the 3-month program which includes the lessons and learning activities they will encounter throughout. A learning needs analysis was done prior to the orientation to gauge the learners’ competency needs and expectations from the program. Learners were also introduced to iFlex or the SEAMEO INNOTECH Flexible Learning Management System. They were able to try out the system by themselves and browse through their own account.

Also present in the orientation were Dr. Ramon C. Bacani, SEAMEO INNOTECH Director, and Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio, Department of Education Region IV-A Regional Director.

TEACHeXCELS is one of SEAMEO INNOTECH’s flexible learning courses that addresses the need to strengthen school heads’ capacity to manage the teaching-learning process in a 21st century classroom. This aims to improve school leaders’ pedagogical competence as they perform their role as effective instructional leaders in their respective schools.
