QUEZON CITY, Philippines — SEAMEO INNOTECH conducted the innoTeach By-Demand Master Course: Advancing Judicial Work through Responsible AI from 9 to 23 October 2026, bringing together justices and court personnel from three Sandiganbayan chambers for a three-week pilot program aimed at strengthening their understanding and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in judicial and administrative work.
Implemented in partnership with the Sandiganbayan chambers of Associate Justices Nocom, Delos Santos, and Villanueva, the program combined face-to-face sessions at SEAMEO INNOTECH and the Sandiganbayan Multipurpose Hall with asynchronous online learning activities through the Centre’s iFLEX platform.
Through expert-led discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, participants explored human-centered AI, ethical and secure AI use, and the Supreme Court’s AI governance framework. The course also introduced practical AI applications for legal research and administrative tasks, highlighting how emerging technologies can support judicial processes while preserving human oversight and accountability.
A key highlight of the program was the development of chamber-based AI use cases, which allowed participants to apply their learning to the specific needs and responsibilities of their respective offices. This component connected the course’s discussions on AI governance and practical applications with real-world judicial and administrative work, emphasizing the importance of responsible technology use in sensitive institutional settings.
By connecting AI governance principles with practical applications, the pilot program provided participants with opportunities to explore how emerging technologies can support judicial and administrative responsibilities without compromising human judgment, confidentiality, and institutional integrity.
