NANNING, China — SEAMEO INNOTECH officially commenced the Innovators SEAL: TVET Learning Visit on 19 July 2026, providing Philippine educators with an immersive learning experience on global best practices in electric vehicle (EV) technology education in Nanning, China.
Implemented under the program Enhancing the Capacity of Technical-Vocational and Higher Education Faculty and Personnel Through Learning Visits to Institutions Implementing Gold Standards in EV Technology Curriculum and Implementation, the initiative is conducted in partnership with the LAMG-China Education Training Promotion Alliance (LCETPA) and the Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity (GXTCME).
The Philippine delegation is led by Dr. Juan Robertino Macalde and Ms. Joan Atienza, together with Mr. Jessie Yamson of SEAMEO INNOTECH’s Learning Development and Management Office. Joining them are nine educators from higher education and technical-vocational institutions engaged in EV-related fields. Through the learning visit, participants will gain insights into emerging EV technologies, innovative teaching approaches, and industry-responsive curriculum and training practices.
The first day of the program featured presentations on China’s talent cultivation strategies for the electric vehicle industry, the country’s vocational education system, and GXTCME’s EV technology curriculum. Participants also toured the institution’s training facilities, gaining firsthand exposure to intelligent manufacturing equipment, virtual reality applications, robotics, and specialized laboratories supporting EV education. The delegation was welcomed by GXTCME officials led by Vice President Mr. Liu Jie, together with the institution’s deans and directors, while Mr. Allan Yang, Chairman of LCETPA, joined and supported the Philippine delegation throughout the day’s activities.
