The SEAMEO INNOTECH and University of the Philippines Center for Education and Development, under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, convened education leaders, policymakers, and experts for Education for Development? Conversations on the EDCOM 2 Reports on 5 June at SEAMEO INNOTECH, UP Diliman. Held as part of SEAMEO INNOTECH’s Seminar Series on Education, Innovation and Technology, the discussion examined education as a central development concern, linking learning outcomes to social mobility, productivity, civic participation, and national progress. Through messages from SEAMEO INNOTECH Centre Director Majah-Leah Ravago and UP President Angelo Jimenez, and insights from panelists from UP Diliman, UNICEF Philippines, and Southern Cross University, the forum underscored the urgency of addressing the education crisis through evidence-based reforms. The event concluded with EDCOM 2 Co-Chair Representative Jude Acidre’s call to ensure that education for development reaches communities, strengthens families, supports livelihoods, and contributes to nation-building.
