Shaping Innovative Solutions for Education at National Innovation Day 2026
MANILA, Philippines — SEAMEO INNOTECH took part in the two-day 2026 National Innovation Day organized by the Philippine Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DepDev), contributing to national conversations and collaborative initiatives that champion innovation as a driving force for transformative education and sustainable development.
The event featured HABI 4.0 and the NCR Sub-National Competition of the Presidential Filipinnovation Awards, bringing together innovators, educators, industry leaders, government agencies, and development partners to showcase creative and transformative solutions across sectors. Through discussions, exhibits, and collaborative exchanges, the event highlighted the importance of innovation in addressing emerging societal and development challenges.
As one of the institutional partners, SEAMEO INNOTECH contributed to the Learning and Education sector through the participation of Centre Director Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago, who served as a Sectoral Scene Setter. Her participation helped frame discussions on the role of innovation, collaboration, and future-oriented approaches in strengthening education systems and learning environments.
INNOTECH mentors Lauren Nerisse Bautista, Emmy Anne Yanga-Domingo, and Raphaella Mae Navarrosa also actively engaged in the event’s sessions and exchanges, joining fellow innovators and stakeholders in discussions on educational innovation, emerging technologies, and collaborative solutions for learning and development.
In addition to participating in the program sessions, SEAMEO INNOTECH joined the event exhibit, showcasing various knowledge products and educational resources, including policy notes, discussion papers, and other publications that support innovation and evidence-informed practices in education.
The two-day celebration underscored the value of cross-sector collaboration in fostering creativity, strengthening innovation ecosystems, and developing impactful solutions that contribute to national and regional development.
