QUEZON CITY, Philippines – SEAMEO INNOTECH explored potential collaboration with the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) and the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) in preparation for the 31st ICDE World Conference during a courtesy visit on 24 September 2026.
The visit provided an opportunity to introduce the upcoming conference, which UPOU will host in Cebu on 15–19 November 2027, discuss its objectives, and explore possible areas of collaboration with SEAMEO INNOTECH.
SEAMEO INNOTECH Centre Director Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago met with UPOU Chancellor Joane V. Serrano, Dr. Ria Mae Borromeo, Chair of the Organizing Committee, ICDE Secretary General Ms. Torunn Gjelsvik, and Ms. Anaïs Malbrand, ICDE Head of Events, Projects, and Services.
Through the engagement, the institutions opened discussions on how they could contribute to preparations for the international gathering on open and distance education.
