Dr. Suthep Kaengsanthia has been the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Thailand since 2023, providing strategic leadership in advancing national education policies, strengthening the education system, and promoting international cooperation. In this role, he oversees the administration of the Ministry and works closely with national and international partners to enhance education quality, equity, and lifelong learning.
Prior to his current designation, Dr. Suthep served as Secretary-General of the Office of the Education Council, where he contributed to education policy and strategic planning. He also took a vital role as Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, leading efforts to strengthen technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Earlier in his career, he held several senior leadership positions within the Ministry of Education, including Deputy Director-General of a Regional Education Office, Director of the Bureau of General Administration, and Director of vocational and agricultural education institutions.
Dr. Suthep holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Buriram Rajabhat University, a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Development, a Master of Arts in Thai Studies from Mahasarakham University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Extension and Development from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University.
