
PROJECT ASSOCIATE (Library and Information Services)
TERMS OF REFERENCE
I. JOB SUMMARY
Provides assistance and technical leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Knowledge Resource Centre (library) in the implementation of knowledge and information services of the unit.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Technical guidance and leadership in special projects and initiatives of the library (i.e. Photo Digitization Project and Installation of Library System and Security System).
- Coordination of services relating to maintenance and development of the Centre’s library collection (including the online archives), knowledge portal, library system and equipment thereof.
- Timely provision of accurate data search and reference services to the Centre staff and clients.
- Provision of technical library services (i.e. Cataloguing, Periodical Indexing and Newspaper Clippings).
Duties:

- Provides recommendations on the selection of relevant print, non-print and digital materials of the library, initiating and monitoring administrative processes relating to acquisition (purchasing, ordering, subscription, renewal) of all library materials and ensuring such stay within budget.

- Timely and accurate monitoring and recording of journals.

- Development and upkeep of the Centre’s library collection; ensuring that the collection is well-maintained, updated, and in good physical condition (Library Weeding and Inventory).

- Implementation and updating of the collection development policy of the library.

- Coordinates tasks in the provision of reference and information services to Centre staff and clients.

- Assists in the establishment and maintenance of library links, networks and interlibrary loan agreements with other libraries and partner institutions.

- Conducts library orientation to clients.

- Provides technical leadership in cataloging/organizing, indexing, abstracting, newspaper clippings and other bibliographic services of the library to Centre staff and patrons.

- Responsible for the Current Awareness Services of the KRC.

- Obtains copyright and/or ISBN or ISSN for recent and/or existing publications and knowledge products.

- Ensures the library’s compliance with ISO requirements.

- Assists in promoting and disseminating INNOTECH publications and information materials to educational institutions, research centers and libraries.

- Assist in the conceptualization and coordinates the implementation of library related projects and initiatives.

- Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.

III. QUALIFICATIONS
-
-
- Completed Bachelor of Library and Information Science or Bachelor of Library Science degree, preferably with PRC License.
- Knowledgeable in using library management system/software.
- Competent in carrying out project management functions and related skill sets.
- Skilled in Library Organization or Classification and Cataloguing of Book and Non-Book collections.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision with excellent oral and written communication skills/administrative skills.
