Project SENANG Gears Up for Training Rollout: Course Validation Workshop Held in Preparation for ToT
In a continued effort to promote peacebuilding in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Save the Children Philippines and SEAMEO INNOTECH, in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), conducted a Review and Validation Workshop from 22 to 23 May 2025.
Held as part of the EU-funded Project SENANG—a three-year initiative fostering serenity and happiness through peace education—the two-day workshop gathered experts to refine the course titled Finding Peace Within, Cultivating Peace Beyond: A Transformative Learning Journey Through Peace and Justice Education. The course is tailored for BARMM educators and aligned with the Values Education component of the MATATAG Curriculum and the Bangsamoro K-12 graduate attributes.
The workshop focused on gathering technical feedback to enhance the course in preparation for its Training of Trainers (ToT) rollout in June 2025 in Davao City. This ToT will build the capacities of educators who will later support the pilot implementation across ten BARMM divisions in September 2025.
Representatives from Save the Children, MBHTE, and SEAMEO INNOTECH emphasized the significance of co-developing culturally contextualized and transformative peace education materials that respond to the realities of learners and communities in conflict-affected areas.
Project SENANG continues to advance its mission of empowering youth and educators as peacebuilders—shaping learners today to become changemakers tomorrow.
