New Free Resources from INNOTECH Now Available for Southeast Asian Parents and Caregivers

INNOTECH offers a rich collection of free digital parenting tools designed to help Southeast Asian parents and caregivers support their children’s learning and online safety in today’s digital world. Building on the initial release of 10 infographic sets and 13 short videos in 2023, the collection has now expanded to include 21 short videos, 7 new infographics, and 2 podcast episodes— available in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Filipino.

These resources cover a wide range of practical topics essential for digital parenting, such as:

• Navigating popular educational platforms like Google Classroom, with guides including “A Parent’s Introduction to Google Classroom” and “Understanding How Children Use Google Classroom”

• Decoding social media apps widely used by teenagers, including “Decoding Instagram: A simple guide for parents,” “Unlocking TikTok for parents,” and videos on why children are drawn to TikTok

• Setting up parental controls on devices and apps, with detailed guides on Google SafeSearch, Apple Screen Time, and Google Family Link

• Understanding and addressing cyberbullying, internet addiction, online pornography, and sexting

• Managing screen time and setting healthy digital boundaries for children, including topics like acceptable screen time, helping teens unplug, and when children are ready for smartphones

• Supporting children’s learning and development through scaffolding and parental mediation techniques

• Exploring online safety and responsible technology use to promote children’s overall health and digital well-being

The two podcasts, “Raising Digital Kids: Are We Doing Enough to Keep Them Safe?” and “How to Promote Children’s Digital Wellness,” provide additional perspectives and strategies for creating safer, healthier digital environments at home.
