Monthly Spotlight is an electronic publication of SEAMEO INNOTECH which features a certain research or learning program. For the month of January 2021, we featured ALS-related INNOTECH programs.
The Philippine government has recently signed into law the Philippine Alternative Learning System (ALS) Act. This law provides support in ensuring that more out-of-school children, youth, and adults (OSCYA) have access to quality basic education and will be ready for higher education or work. The ALS Act also focuses on strengthening the capacity of ALS Teachers through pre-service and in-service training to improve the quality and relevance of ALS basic education programs.
